a taste of paris

i was there a few times this past year but i have to admit, i am not entirely sure i understand this city. i find myself in a melancholy mood when i wander around and i don't necessarily feel all that inspired to take photos even though this makes absolutely no sense. the city is beautiful and has so many wonderful details. paris is definitely not to blame. i keep going back, determined to figure it out. here are a few angles from my wanderings in june and november last year. maybe they reveal what i am talking about, how i have missed the point somehow....

toronto, not in its entirety

isabelle has the best view of the skyline--ever! while i struggle with my current love/hate feelings for this city, no one, not even me, can argue at the awesome beauty of the city by night. this is but a quarter of the panorama. my lens just couldn't handle the load....
