costa brava...

so perhaps it becomes ridiculous to post photos of things that are approaching a year old, however, here marks the beginning of my guiding season last year. the spring was launched with yet another visit to that city i can't get enough of—barcelona! and a few more photos of the costa brava region at large.

sant jordi day was a wonderful time to be in barcelona—it is the catalan equivalent of valentine's day, in a convoluted way. besides the beautiful weather, all the beautiful couples celebrated. roses for all the women, and books for the boys. people were dressed to the nines for their evening stroll. i happened to have lunch that day with a couple of students from a nearby language school, and the guy i sat with bought me a rose, too. just when i was starting to feel left out of all the fun...
it was quite a spectacle but trust me to only take pictures of this crazy hanging book...strange, indeed.

barcelona still stands out for me as having some of the best graffiti i have ever seen...

this would be the view from one of my hotel rooms. sometimes, life is really, really good.

and a spot of rain on the windscreen...
